Join us on January 30th at The Campus for our technical repairs workshop!
Workshop Outline
Get ready to breathe life into your peeling seams, and recognise which sealants to use on which fabrics. No prior experience is needed, just bring your enthusiasm and any item you'd like to practice on!
We'll start by introducing you to the various types of sealants available, and then move onto applying these together. Using a self-made sample, we'll look at sealing a tent, and also at applying 3 layer tape on a gore tex jacket. Getting the settings right on your iron is also a hugely important factor, so we'll talk through this too - because no-one wants a melted garment! We'll also take a look at creative mending with coloured repair tapes- great for small tears as a quick and fun fix!
Skills required
No sewing skills are required, as full instructions will be given during any sewing elements of the class.
Who can attend?
Perfect for anyone who spends their time in the great outdoors, and needs to be able to remedy any leaks as soon as possible!
